An Eastern Cape writer promises more zeal at the 2012 Grahamstown WordFest through the Launch of his debut poetry collection...

"I am an African. I owe my being to the hills and the valleys, the mountains and the glades, the rivers, the deserts, the trees, the flowers, the seas and the ever-changing seasons that define the face of our native land.”

These are some of the words spoken by then Deputy President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki in 1996 at the National assembly prior to the country’s adaption of the new constitution.

Addressing the entire nation, and international figures president Mbeki’s open his speech his opening spech making reference to Africa clearly indicated his  inte his strong feel about  Africa and its poetic nature made it more appealing. Although Mbeki’s political stature cannot be compared to that of the ordinary citizen his teachings and passion about the African continent which he possesses has influenced generation of writers in this country.

After 2 years of existence, EC Talent is pleased to note that the feedback given by organizations visiting the site has been positive. For instance, recently we have receive telephone enquiries from organizations such as The Boardwalk Casino, Goodyear South Africa, the Department of Public Works, Discovery, SA Has Got Talent Organisers, Mercantile Life Care and  many others, all enquiring about the services of artists registered on the site.

In addition, we have sent out media releases regarding latest events happening around the progress of artists in the Eastern Cape area, these include amongst others Take Note performance with  Rastie Pule in Uitenhage, Roger Mhlonto CD Launch in Port Elizabeth, Two Tone Production,  2Che CD launch and many others.

To date monthly statistics have indicated a rise in people visiting the site with visitors outside African borders to international countries.

Congrats to all artists on their successes and the hard work of the EC Talent team!

TwoTone Music's popular Valentine's event 'Shall we Dance?' returns on Saturday, 11 February 2012, featuring all-girl vocal group The Divalicious Project and guests. Director Ulagh Williams (piano & vocals) is joined by singer-songwriter Faye Gatley, velvet-voiced diva Anda Masala and stage veteran singer-choreographer Chireen Ferreira in a show that guarantees a full dance floor!
The performers sing and dance their way through Jazz, Golden Oldies, Motown, Soul and popular dance floor hits and are joined by various guest artists.
The show/dance is hosted in the glamorous ballroom at Norburgh Country Estate. Patrons are invited to bring their own snacks and there is a cash bar on site. Upcoming Gospel Star Launches CD in King William’s Town PDF Print E-mail

A spiritual journey will be traveled by all those attending the CD launch of one of Eastern Cape’s golden voices, Unathi Luthweyi. The launch will take place in the King William’s Town War Memorial Hall on December 11.
Although this is Unathi’s debut album, her musical talents are known to many especially in the King William’s Town and East London area. She performs at a number of government functions, weddings and church activities.
