Gospel fans, don't miss Thabo Namba's interview on Kowie FM tonight between 18h00 & 18h30. The talented gospel artist will be talking about the upcoming launch of his debut album. It is scheduled for release at the end of May, but a number of tracks are already receiving popular airplay on local stations.

Thabo's interview with Bay TV will be broadcast live this Sunday on Ezokholo Gospel Programme between 08h00 and 09h00.

Although the 21st of March is known to many as human rights day commemorating liberation fighters there is another emotional side to this day, celebrating creative and natural talent – it is World Poetry Day. It was established in 1999 by the United Nations Education and Scientific Education Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to create more awareness around the world of poetry from local, national and international communities.

Eastern Cape Talent spoke to Brian Walter, one of the accomplished poetic writers in the Eastern Cape, about the significance of the “World Poetry Day”.

Three years ago, journalist and public relations practitioner, Claire Warneke had a vision to promote art and talent in the Eastern Cape. Her drive to achieving this was motivated further by her marriage to local bassist and member of 2Che, and the Jack Rabbit Slims, Andrew Warneke. Having noticed the high number of talented individuals born in the Eastern Cape who were leaving for other provinces to better their opportunities, Warneke figured out a platform to showcase the quality of talent that exists in the Eastern Cape area.

She set up a website that would allow artists to advertise their talents to get more exposure from local, national and international communities. In 2009 the website known as “Eastern Cape Talent,(www.ectalent.co.za) was officially launched by leading public relations company, Siyathetha Communications. “Eastern Cape talent is aimed at assisting artists with exposure. I thought having a database of artists from various categories such as music, drama, visual art, dance, poetry and voice over, will afford events organizers and other stakeholders in the entertainment  more options to choose from when in need of talent services,” says Warneke.  In addition, the website allows for more artists to network with each other.
