Singer / Songwriters - Male Vocals

Hailing from the historical city of Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, opera singer, Sisa Nomana has been inspired by music his whole life.

The talented tenor has been performing in various choirs and concerts since 1992, and he generously shares his talent and spare time with residents of old age homes and frail care centres in East London.

In 1995, Nomana was in the chorus in “Amahl and the night visitors” opera production under the East Cape Co-Opera Company headed by Professor Stander and Gwyneth Lloyd. The company was attached to the Rhodes University Music and Musicology department.

In 2000, he took part in the Standard Bank National Arts Festival as a soloist. He also rendered his singing skills in frail care centres and old age homes around East London.

In 2001 he took part in Pinkie Mtshali’s show in Darban’s Playhouse as a backing vocalist. He was invited to Grahamstown Foundation’s Eisteddfod Showcasing show.

In 2002 he was invited to sing at the Eastern Cape’s Candlelight Memorial organized by Grahamstown Health Department, District Offie.

He has performed his one man show, “Sisa in Song” at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival from 2006 to 2008. The show was described as “A vibrant show of praises to the Almighty for His love and grace.” One reviewer noted the ease with which Sisa moved through his repertoire, which included traditional spirituals, love songs, opera and classical and a little bit of Xhosa beat.

The accomplished singer has won several medals and certificates.
