Dumisani Maswana, aka, Dumza, is a name that is sending a strong message to all the music lovers out there. He is a special gem, who is full of spoke and passion for what he does. Dumza's debut album, “Iphupha” Lam is taking the entertainment industry by storm.

The album was produced by Vukile Koli and Dumisani Maswana himself and was recorded using a full band at studio 12 by cr8ive Nest Entertainment. The music appeals to a wide range of audiences both in South Africa and beyond borders.

Dumza's music and performance on stage is s justification for his reputation as one of the most promising artists in his genre. The message in his lyrics defines his personality and explains why he is ready to take the South African music industry by storm. He is greatly inspired by the music of local legends such as Mr. Victor Ntoni, Zim Ngqawana. Also K.E.M and Erykah Badu.

He is considered by many to be a very humble and down to earth artist, with a lot of respect and trust in his African culture and religion.
Born on April 14, 1983, in Peddie in the Eastern Cape, Dumza is a versatile musician who started singing at the age of nine. He has performed for various church choirs in competitions and festivals since then.

In 1997 he formed a male vocal group with four friends named Healing Voices and recorded two albums which were sold in the streets and at the performance venues.

In 2002, he was a backing vocalist for Mandla Makhubalo and performed alongside Rebecca, Avante and many other artists.
In 2003, he joined a jazz band called the Mo-Jazz Band a s a vocalist and performed at the Macufe festival, Grahamstown National Arts Festival. He was also the opening act for Ringo and Thandiswa Mazwai to name a few.

In 2004, he launched his name as a solo artist.
As Dumza, he has performed with big names like MXO, Loyiso Bala, Tshepo Tshola, Ringo, Martin Phike, Mafikizolo, Kelly Khumalo, Sharon Dee, Bantu Soul and Ntando.

In 2005, Dumza shared the stage with Kenny and Chante Lattimore during their tour in Port Elizabeth.

Dumza is a multi-talented artist and has appeared in some episodes for the local soapy, Generations.
