Sixolile Nqunqutha started writing in 2004 when he was inspired by his grandmother who predicted in a dream that he would be a Nobel prize winning author. He says his inspiration comes from everyday life experiences including social trends.

Sixolile has written more than 10 books varying from novels to poetry and short stories. His works are suitable for everyone from young children to adults and has been published in both isiXhosa and English.

His novels include “Ubomi Ematyotyombeni” (Life in Shacks), “Ubutsha Bam Ndiyabukhalela” (Crying Out For My Heydays/Youth) and Ubomi.

His short stories and poetry works include: “It Hurts”, “Kid’s Heart Break” and “ Beyond The Grave”.

When Sixolile is not biting his pen whilst working on a book, he spends time upgrading his skills in drama directorship and stage production. He also helps to promote young artists by organizing drama and dance activities.

His vision is to see more investment in local talent and he does his best in achieving that dream by working with the youth in Plettenberg Bay, Eastern Cape and entertaining local and international guests at various events.
